VELUX® Windows and Roofing in Ashton upon Mersey

Homes and roofs in Ashton upon Mersey

The historic core around St Martin's Church has older cottages and Victorian houses, while the surrounding roads include Edwardian villas, inter-war semis and later detached homes. Many houses back onto the open land of the Mersey valley and Sale Water Park, and several larger homes have been extended.

The Ashton upon Mersey conservation area

Trafford Council's Ashton upon Mersey conservation area covers the historic village core. Roof repairs there should use matching materials, and roof windows on slopes facing a road may need permission. Outside the conservation area, homes on the Mersey valley edge face more exposure to wind-driven rain from the west.

We often repair slate roofs on older houses here, renew ridges and verges on tiled roofs, and replace roof windows in loft rooms and extensions. Where homes back onto open land, gutters and flashings benefit from regular checks. We provide a written quote before any work and explain the options clearly.
