All roofing servicesWhat we mean by Cheshire
We cover the ceremonial county of Cheshire, made up of four councils: Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington and Halton. Some places that were historically in Cheshire, such as Altrincham, Stockport and Stalybridge, are now part of Greater Manchester. We cover those too, and they appear in our Greater Manchester section.
Cheshire's building traditions
Few counties have such a mix of roofs. Black-and-white timber-framed buildings stand in Chester and Nantwich, and Northwich's town centre was built in timber frame partly so that buildings could be jacked up as salt-mining subsidence moved the ground. Around Macclesfield and Bollington, older buildings may still carry heavy Kerridge stone roofing slabs. Elsewhere, Welsh slate and clay tiles dominate the Victorian and inter-war housing.
Rural Cheshire also has a large number of farmhouses and barn conversions. Roof windows are often the main source of daylight in these buildings, and in conservation areas or on listed buildings, low-profile conservation-style roof windows may be expected.
Homes and businesses
Alongside homeowners, we work with landlords and managing agents across Chester, Warrington and the Halton towns, and with businesses on the many commercial and industrial estates around Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes, Crewe and Ellesmere Port.

Questions about our work in Cheshire
Do you cover the whole of Cheshire?
Yes. We cover Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington and Halton, including rural villages such as Malpas, Audlem and Tarporley and the Wirral side of the county around Neston and Parkgate.
Can you fit roof windows on a listed building or in a conservation area?
Often, but listed buildings need listed building consent for most changes, and some conservation areas have extra controls. We can advise on suitable low-profile windows, and you should confirm the requirements with your council before work goes ahead.
Where is your office?
Our registered office is Grosvenor House, Chapel Street, Congleton. It is an administrative office rather than a showroom, and our teams travel to properties across Cheshire.
