Flat roof systems we use

The right choice depends on the size and shape of the roof, how it is used, what it adjoins and your budget. We will explain the pros and cons of each for your roof.

Where flat roofs fail

Most flat roof leaks start at the edges rather than in the middle: at upstands against walls, around rooflights, at outlets and at the trims along the edge. Ponding water, where the roof has too little fall, speeds up wear. When we replace a flat roof, we pay particular attention to these details and to getting the falls right.

Insulation and condensation

Many older flat roofs have little or no insulation. When a flat roof is replaced, it is often possible to upgrade it to a warm roof, with insulation above the deck, which improves comfort in the room below and reduces the risk of condensation in the roof structure.

Rooflights and sun tunnels

A flat roof replacement is a good time to add a rooflight or sun tunnel to a dark extension. Because we fit both, the opening and the waterproofing can be detailed together.
